    1. Executive Summary

    Between September 2025 and May 2026, ESCA Community successfully delivered a structured Supplementary Education & Training Programme funded by the Community Fund.

    The programme directly supported 26 children aged between 14 and 16 years, providing free, high-quality supplementary education outside school hours.

    The project aimed to improve academic achievement, increase confidence, and reduce educational inequality for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in London. It also supported youth development through structured volunteering opportunities.

2. Project Objectives

The programme was designed to:

  • Provide structured supplementary education for young people

  • Improve attainment in English, Mathematics, and Arabic

  • Support learners preparing for school assessments and GCSE examinations

  • Build confidence, motivation, and engagement in learning

  • Promote Arabic language development and cultural identity

  • Develop leadership skills through youth volunteering

  • Strengthen family and community engagement in education

    The programme delivered consistent weekly sessions throughout the academic period, focusing on core subjects:

The programme was delivered by qualified ESCA Youth coaches, all of whom:

  • Are members of ESCA Youth

  • Have successfully completed A-Levels

  • Received pre-programme training and induction

  • Worked under ongoing supervision

Volunteer Support Provided:

  • Structured training and induction

  • Teaching materials and lesson resources

  • Ongoing supervision and mentoring

  • Travel expense reimbursement

  • DBS checks for eligible volunteers

This ensured high-quality delivery while also developing youth leadership and employability skills.

The programme achieved the following outcomes:

  • Increased confidence and classroom participation

  • Better preparedness for GCSE-level education
