refugees support

What do we mean by refugees?

ESCA community in England focuses on a socially excluded group. These groups are socially marginalized in their native lands and the bulk of our community in the UK is mostly made up of recent immigrants and asylum seekers. Evidence supporting their social exclusion includes the specific challenges they face in integrating into the wider community and accessing local services. Our in-house research (which was very rudimentary and based on small sample) shows that they are experiencing a high level of unemployment and most lack basic English language skills.

The organization will not restrict its work based on race or ethnicity. While its primary focus is on the Eastern Sudan community, it also aims to promote racial harmony and mutual understanding between different racial groups residing in the UK.

We are not seeking to be exclusionary, but instead, we feel that by focusing on the East Sudan community we can direct our limited resources in a meaningful way.

How we support refugees

We provide information to our refugees about their accommodation, ensuring the household understands both their legal and contractual rights and responsibilities and understands safety information.

We translate information into different languages such as Arabic to communicate critical information to share on arrival at the accommodation.

We support refugees with a local community orientation, ensuring they can use public transport and know where local laities such as places of worship, local shops, and markets are.

We support refugee families and single people to resettle in the borough through our Housing Solutions Service and working with partners like the Red Cross.

Health support

Through our relationships with key healthcare providers, we prepare support in advance of arrival for specialist medical cases.

This includes registering refugees with a local GP.

We are doing our best to make all refugees and asylum seekers know how to access ongoing support.

We are also interested in educating the refugee so that he can integrate into the England society.

We work hard to be ready in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) providers such as College closes the residents in his area could be able to organize their expenses and provide transportation.
